Simple Sitemap Generator: A Quick Tour 1/2

Simple Sitemap Generator is extremely easy to use.
Once you've entered all the parameters, it only takes one click!

Sitemap Generator

1. Enter all the parameters


Required Fields

Root Folder: This is the folder where your website's source files are located.

Root URL: This is the root URL of your website (i.e. the address where you site is located once it's live).

Sitemap File: Name (with full path) of the sitemap file to be generated

Optional Fields

Last Modification: Indicates when the files in your sitemap have been last modified.
This field can be edited for each page after the sitemap is generated.

Change Frequency: Indicates how frequently pages in the sitemap are likely to change. This gives an indication to search engines on when to revisit a page.

Priority: Indicates the priority of each page relative to other pages in your sitemap. Lowest priority is 0.0 and highest priority is 1.0.
This field can be edited for each page after the sitemap is generated.

Exclude folders: Enter here the list (coma separated) of all the folders containing files to be excluded from the sitemap. Any child folders of excluded folders will also be ignored.

Exclude Files: Enter here the list of files (coma separated) to be excluded from the sitemap. You can use full file names or wildcards (e.g. *.png, *.jpg, *.gif to exclude all images).

Note: When you close the application, all your parameters are automatically saved.

2. Generate the sitemap


Once you've entered all the parameters, generate your sitemap file by simply clicking the "Generate Sitemap" button. This will automatically take you to the Results tab where you can see the results.
