11.5. Advanced Parameters: Error Handling

Error Handling parameters let you control how to handle errors and warnings that might occur while a group or job is running. The Error Handling tab is located within the Advanced Parameters form. It's accessible from any group or job by clicking the Advanced Parameters link in the group or job parameters section.

Advanced Params (Error Handling)

Don't display Errors: This box indicates whether to display errors occurring while a group or job is begin run from the DMT Client.

Don't display Warnings: This box indicates whether to display warning occurring while a group or job is begin run from the DMT Client.

Note: It is recommended to leave the two check boxes above checked (default) so runs are not interrupted by error or warning messages requiring user input. Even if they are not displayed, Errors and Warnings are logged in the log file as defined in the Settings/Application Events Tab.

Note: The value of the two check boxes above is ignored if a group or job is being run by the scheduler. The scheduler never displays errors or warnings.

Max Number of Errors allowed: In this field, you can specify how many errors can occur during the run of a group or job before it's terminated. If errors occur, the group or job continues running (if possible) while the total number of errors remains below this number. The default value is 0 meaning that a group or jobs fails immediately if an error occurs.

Exclude from Scheduler: When a group or job is run by the DMT Scheduler, it can be automatically excluded from further runs if it fails more than a specified number of times. You can enter that number in this field.

Note: This field has no effect when a group or job is run from the DMT Client.

Note: If you enter 0 (default), the group or job will never be excluded from the DMT Scheduler (i.e. the scheduler will keep trying to run the group or job even if it repetitively fails).
