13.2. Settings: FTP Connections


All FTP connections available in DMT are centralized here and can be used throughout the application without having to enter the connection details each time. In this settings page you can manage all the FTP connections (create, edit, delete, test, etc.).

FTP connections are used by Pre and Post Processes where you can transfer files via FTP.

Command Buttons

Add New FTP Connection Creates a new DB connection.
It creates a new row in the FTP connection grid. All you need to do is populate it with the required information.

Delete FTP Connection Deletes the FTP connection currently selected in the FTP connection grid.

Test FTP Connection Tests the FTP connection currently selected in the FTP connection grid.
It connects to the FTP server with all the supplied parameters.

FTP connection grid

The FTP connection grid shows all the FTP connections available in DMT. It contains 8 columns:

  • Connection Name: Name of the FTP connection.
    This can be any meaningful name. It is used to identify the FTP connection throughout the application.
  • Host Name: Host name of the FTP server (e.g. ftp.yourdomain.com).
  • Port: Port number to use when connecting to the FTP server (this field is optional).
  • Login: Login name used to connect to the FTP server.
  • Password: Password used to connect to the FTP server.
  • Default Dir: Default directory to use when connecting to the FTP server if one is not specified.
    Note: This value can be changed every time you use the FTP connection in a Pre or Post Process.
  • Timeout: Timeout (in seconds) after which to cancel an FTP operation that hasn't completed.
    Note: This value can be changed every time you use the FTP connection in a Pre or Post Process.
  • Description: Free text describing of the FTP connection.
